Glacier Bay replacement parts are hard to find!

Replacement parts for Glacier Bay faucets are hard to find!
We’ve been trying to find information and replacement parts for Melissa’s Glacier Bay bathtub faucet for quite a while. Apparently, if you don’t have/didn’t keep the SKU and/or model number, you’re almost S.O.L. in finding replacing parts.
The guy at Home Depot was pretty helpful in trying to help us find a replacement valve cartidge (the broken part) but it wasn’t stocked in the store. He advised going to the Glacier Bay website to find contact information for the Glacier Bay supplier. This site is pretty much useless without the SKU or model number.
So, I found the Home Depot contact number (1-800-430-3376) in the Terms of Use webpage and called support there. Not surprisingly, the CSR gave me the number to the Glacier Bay people (actually Globe Union is the name – 888-328-2383).
After getting that CSR on the line and describing the situation, he told me that without the SKU or model number, he can’t help me – that’s frustrating. I negotiated with him for a couple of minutes and he agreed to help identify the model number of the faucet if I send him pictures of it.
Alright then … pictures have been sent. Hopefully, the Globe Union CSR can provide the correct model number and maybe, just maybe, we can get a replacement part!

Hey Pat … I never found the EXACT part (at least by visual identifying it) but I found what I think is the aftermarket replacement part: Glacier Bay cartridge part #489408 at http://http://doplumb.com/.
I haven’t had the opportunity to install it and verify it yet but will post as soon as I do!
