Buell Motorcycles Discontinued By Harley-Davidson
As an enthusiastic owner of a Buell XB9SL, the news of Harley-Davidson’s October 15 announcement to “discontinue the Buell product line as part of its strategy to focus on growth through the Harley-Davidson brand” comes with shock and disappointment.
The Buell motorcycle company has made an impressive number of design and technological innovations over the past 26 years. Additionally, the company is somewhat of a maverick and folk-hero in the American motorcycle industry. (more…)
Ubuntu 9.04 LTS “Jaunty Jackalope” – I am in love… well, at least serious infatuation.
Ubuntu? What the heck is Ubuntu?
Well, for those of you who don’t yet know, Ubuntu is the operating system analogue of “I’d like to buy the world a Coke” except that it’s even better than buying the world a Coke — it’s FREE!
Ubuntu is a free, open-source distribution of the Linux operating system. But what makes it really special is that it’s the first, and maybe only, Linux distribution that is this friendly, easy to use and familiar-feeling. Ubuntu uses the Gnome desktop user interface by default, which is very similar to the familiar Windows or Macintosh user-interfaces (desktop environments). Optionally, you can use the KDE desktop environment (called Kubuntu). Either one is well-developed and easy to transition to if you are familiar with Windows or Macintosh. (more…)
Autumn Is Here And Good Things Are Coming!
It’s my favorite season of the year and here in North Texas autumn is a welcomed change from the blazing summertime.
We’ve been getting more rain than we normally do during this time of the year. But that isn’t all bad; the rain has brought us several days and nights that have been cooler than normal for this time of year here. With this change in the weather the urges to ride motorcycles, play outside and camp have been strong! (more…)
