Being interviewed for the nightly news
A group of us from JWT were out to lunch at Champps today and FOX News interviewed a few of us about the current hullabaloo regarding Fantasy Football.
Apparently, four guys got fired from their job for participating in Fantasy Football at work. Their company has a strict policy against gambling (obviously NOT an advertising/marketing firm!) and these guys got terminated due to it. SUCKS to be them.
Anyway, I don’t play but certainly don’t see any harm in it as long as it doesn’t interfere with people getting their jobs done. So that’s what I told the news.
Will I get 15 seconds of fame (or even 5 seconds)? I don’t know – it was footage for the 4 o’clock news and I’ll be working — not watching tv!

Ubuntu is a free, open-source distribution of the Linux operating system. But what makes it really special is that it’s the first, and maybe only, Linux distribution that is this friendly, easy to use and familiar-feeling. Ubuntu uses the Gnome desktop user interface by default, which is very similar to the familiar Windows or Macintosh user-interfaces (desktop environments). Optionally, you can use the KDE desktop environment (called Kubuntu). Either one is well-developed and easy to transition to if you are familiar with Windows or Macintosh.
